Lady Huskies dominate Dell Rapids Quarriers

With only 1 loss on the season to date, the Elk Point-Jefferson girls basketball team traveled to Dell Rapids on Saturday, January 11, 2025 with high hopes. They were hungry for another win and it showed on the court. The Huskies dominated against the Quarriers, and a big win was achieved as they bested Dell Rapids 60-26.

Dooley new NSC city administrator

Stability is the focus for Jeff Dooley as North Sioux City’s new city administrator. It is a role he feels ready to take on as he looks forward to being an asset to a community in need. Dooley’s first day was December 2, 2024 and with it came an excitement and an energy that many are eager to have at city hall.

DDCID wage plan approved

December 16th, at 5 pm, was the date and time of the last regular meeting of 2024 for the Dakota Dunes Community Improvement District (CID) Board of Supervisors. It was held at the Welcome Center on Sioux Point Road. Budgets and plans for the year ahead were the main topics of discussion throughout the meeting.

Dakota Valley boys win one away, one home

To end 2024 the Dakota Valley boys basketball team got a victory in the Parkston Classic on December 31. They went up against Winner in the Parkston Armory and came out on top by a score of 63-47.

Double win puts Metros in first

On Saturday, Ames Cyclones would simply be unable to overcome Sioux City’s offensive firepower of 49 shots on goal vs their opponents 24. Metros take a 6-3 win over their opponent. While Cyclone’s shot percentage did improve Sunday, it would not be enough to shut down another loss. Metros took advantage of twelve power-play minutes to take the 3-1 win on Sunday.

Dakota Valley dominates competion stays undefeated

The Panther girls basketball team marked a notch in the win column to end 2024 and also to start 2025. Dakota Valley took down Wall on December 31, 2024 and they prevailed over Hartington Cedar Catholic on January 3, 2025.

Panther grapplers show strength on the mat

To wrap up 2024 the Dakota Valley wrestling team participated in the Floyd Farrand Invitational in Sioux Falls at Lincoln High School. The girls wrestled on Monday, December 30, 2024 and the boys hit the mat the next day for fierce competition. Opponents were from not only the surrounding areas plus the Sioux Falls metro and farther regions of the state.

Panthers hosted esports camp for students

The Dakota Valley esports high school team hosted a camp for Panther students on Saturday, January 4, 2024. The camp was open to children in grades 5th through 8th and was a well attended event in the high school’s esports lab. Campers were able to learn and play a variety of gaming titles during their session.
