Leader-Courier and Dakota Dunes/North Sioux City Times move to Fridays

The Leader-Courier and Dakota Dunes/North Sioux City will move their publication day from Thursday to Friday beginning the second week of January 2026. Publisher Shannon Jost said the change also adjusts the weekly deadline to Tuesday at noon, instead of Monday at noon.

Huskies unleashed: Class of 2026 graduates

The Husky Class of 2026 walked to receive their high school diplomas on Saturday, May 16, 2026. It was the 32nd annual graduation for Elk Point-Jefferson (EPJ) with the event being held in the high school gymnasium at 1 pm.

Wind conditions were rough, but the Huskies persevered to secure strong finishes at the DAK XII conference meet, on May 14, 2026, in Tri-Valley. Huskies stay hot with sweep of SFC, Canton

May 12, 2026 brought about a doubleheader for the Huskies in softball. It also led to double the wins as Elk Point-Jefferson claimed victories in both of their contests. They beat Sioux Falls-Christian by a score of 5-3 and bested Canton in a big way 20-4. Elk Point-Jefferson (EPJ) softball coach Amber Otkin was happy with her team’s play on the field and at the plate.

DV girls golf rallies late to secure 3rd at WC Invite

As a roster, the Dakota Valley varsity girls golf team claimed 3rd place overall at the West Central Invite in Hartford, South Dakota on May 11, 2026. The Panthers secured a team score of 66. They bested 4th place Madison by 5 strokes. They were behind 1st place Vermillion and 2nd place Sioux Falls Christian (SFC). Vermillion finished with a +42 and the SFC Chargers recorded a +45.
