DV students bring Broadway energy to ‘Guys and Dolls Jr.’

Dakota Valley’s performing arts center was booked for three nights from April 16-18, 2026 for the high school theater department’s production of Guys and Dolls Jr. Director Jody Robertson brought the show to life with musical direction from Panther choir teacher Kari Wilmes. A cast and crew of over 20 students helped brighten the stage with well acted scenes and fun musical numbers.

Huskies battle in tight doubleheader at Beresford

It was a doubleheader for Elk Point-Jefferson (EPJ) baseball on Friday, April 24, 2026. The destination was Beresford and the opponent was Beresford Area which is made up of players from Beresford, Centerville and Alcester-Hudson. Both contests were close, but unfortunately resulted in losses for EPJ by the scores of 5-7 and 3-10.

Huskies’ bats stay hot in busy week of soft ball action

A doubleheader happened on Monday, April 20, 2026 for the Elk Point-Jefferson (EPJ) softball team. Despite outstanding hitting, plus a rally in the bottom of the 7th, the Huskies fell to Lennox by a score of 8-10. Up next in the doubleheader was top ranked West Central (WC). An early lead by EPJ happened, but the WC Trojans had big bats in the 4th and 5th innings to defeat EPJ 3-15.

Panthers rack up wins, records in strong week on the track

Senior Claire Munch grabbed gold in the girls triple jump with a personal record mark that was over 38 feet. She also cleared 5-04 to be the best at the high jump on the day.
