DV Panther baseball has a winning week

As of May 13, the Panther baseball team had a season record of 13-2. This is thanks in part to 4 games in the 2nd week of May that amount to 4 victories for Dakota Valley.

Jefferson council discusses school, parks, traffic

The Jefferson City Council opened their May 6 meeting to discuss unfinished business before swearing in the new council. Tom Johnson with JET Enterprises, LLC was present to update the council on the removal process of the old Jefferson High School building.

Property owners given 30 days to clean

A public hearing on a nuisance violation for property located at 31798 475th Ave., Elk Point was held at the Union County Commission meeting on April 30 at 11:15 a.m. The property belonging to Richard and Wanda Jilderda was declared a nuisance at their prior meeting because of garbage, trash, trees and branches and inoperative, wrecked motor vehicles and campers sitting upon the property.

EPJ lady golfers improve scores at WC

It was a good day to golf on Monday, May 7 as the Huskies were at Central Valley Golf Course for the West Central Invite. It was a full field of teams competing. Elk Point-Jefferson faced opponents from Dakota Valley, Sioux Falls Christian, Tea, Vermillion, Lennox, Canton, Parkston, Winner, Madison, Beresford, West Central and Tri-Valley.

EPJ softball wins two against Canton

Double the games meant double the wins for the Elk Point-Jefferson softball squad on Tuesday, May 7. The Huskies went up against the Canton CHawks and earned a victory in game #1 by a score of 16-0 and then won game #2 with a final of 11-2.
