Children ages 8-10 years old enjoyed three days of fun at the Adams Homestead and Nature Preserve on June 13-15. The camp was called Pioneer Fun and ran from 9:30 a.m.
Buenger makes top 25 in the State A Girls Golf Tournament

Madison Buenger competed in the State A Girls Golf Tournament June 5 and 6 in Rapid City. She represented Elk Point-Jefferson well on the Meadowbrook Golf Course, coming home with a 25th place _nish and making the Top 25 medals.

Operation Round-Up a successful donation drive

Jones Food Center and First Dakota National Bank combined efforts to help provide for the Elk Point, Jefferson and North Sioux City communities. From April 26 to May 16, the two businesses collaborated to hold Operation Round-Up. During the aforementioned time frame, patrons shopping at Jones Food Center could round-up their purchases to the nearest dollar and donate their change to the Elk Point Food Pantry. Once the round-up hit $1,000, Jones Food Center and First Dakota National Bank would each match the amount.

Dakota Valley Art students compete in Art Wars

Dakota Valley high school art teacher Demi Harlan and some of her students were in Vermillion on Friday, Feb. 9 for the 2024 Art Wars competition. This event was hosted by South Dakota High School Activities Association and was held at the University of South Dakota.

Bridge Grant recipients announced

The South Dakota Transportation Commission awarded 24 preservation, rehabilitation, and replacement Bridge Improvement Grants (BIG) totaling approximately $20 million at the recent commission meeting held in Pierre. Panthers fight hard at state tournament, Boonstra places 3rd

Much success was observed by the Panther wrestlers at state on Feb. 22, 23 and 24 in Sioux Falls. Dakota Valley represented their school and the wrestling program well in front of large crowds at the Denny Sanford Premier Center.

Dakota Valley Panther boys head into post-season

It was a long road trip on President’s Day for the Panther boys basketball team as they traveled to Groton despite no school being in session on Monday, Feb. 19th. It was a tight 1st half with the score tied at 29 after the 2nd quarter. However, Groton pulled away on their home court and DV took the loss 54-71.

Panther girls basketball season ends in Lennox

The first game of Class A regional play for the Panther girls basketball team was at Lennox on Tuesday, Feb. 20. It was a barn burner contest with Dakota Valley as the underdog at the #5 seed in Region 4. Lennox hosted and was seeded 4th.
