    Senior night for the Husky boys coincided with their basketball home game, versus the West Central Trojans, on Monday, February 23, 2026. The stands were packed as many came to cheer on the 12th graders and Elk Point-Jefferson in their last home game of the regular season.

    A driver who fled from a traffic stop Sunday evening died after a pursuit through North Sioux City ended in a three‑vehicle crash that destroyed two police units, according to Union County authorities.

    DV girls rebound with big Senior Night win

    The regular season for high school girls basketball included a game versus Tri-Valley (TV) and a contest against Madison for the Panthers. Dakota Valley went on the road, on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, to face the TV Mustangs. They then hosted Madison for DV’s senior night where Jaidyn Jund was honored for her many seasons of hard work for the Panthers.

    Panthers punch four tickets to state tourney

    All of the Panther wrestling team’s hard work, in the regular season, came to a head at the Class 2A Region tourneys. The girls tournament was held on Thursday, February 19, 2026 in Elk Point. The boys competed on Friday, February 20, 2026 in Harrisburg.

    A triple dose of games greeted the Panther boys basketball team during the 3rd week of February. Competitive play began for the Dakota Valley (DV) boys varsity team as they ventured into Iowa to battle Sioux City (SC) West on February 17, 2026. Both squads had been playing great ball which made for an exciting match-up in the metro area.

    Dunes Blvd remains 35 mph

    Dakota Dunes residents were notified this week that the speed limit on Dakota Dunes Boulevard will remain 35 mph, following more than a year of review by the Dakota Dunes Community Improvement District and the Union County Sheriff’s Office. Because the speed limit is unchanged, golf carts will continue to be prohibited from operating on the boulevard, except when crossing at designated points. The update applies only to Dakota Dunes residents.

    Johnson meets DV students for Q&A

    Dakota Valley high schoolers gathered in the Panther theater room on Wednesday, February 18, 2026 to participate in a question and answer session with South Dakota Congressman Dusty Johnson. An estimated 75 pupils, mostly upperclassmen, were in attendance. All members of Dakota Valley’s student council organization were onhand.
