Brown a National Merit Scholarship Semifinalist

    A senior at Elk Point-Jefferson was recently named as a Semifinalist in the 2024 National Merit Scholarship Program. Ethan Brown was officially added to the National Merit Scholarship semifinalists list on Sept.

    Kjose builds ramp for the museum

    Recently a handicap ramp was installed as an Eagle Scout project by Johnathan Kjose. He had to raise the funds himself as part of the project. He could get outside help, which he did with his parents and other boy scouts that could lend a hand.

    Dakota Valley thespians to present “Puffs”

    At the beginning of September the thespians of Dakota Valley took their talents to the stage to audition for this fall’s three-act production of “Puffs”. It is a stage play written by Matt Cox and a hilarious twist on the happenings of Harry Potter and Hogwarts.

    Dakota Valley Panthers take on Ponca and Pierce, Nebraska

    Panther volleyball action took place across the river in Nebraska on Thursday, Sept. 28. Dakota Valley went up against Ponca and Pierce and were winners for the night, as they dropped only 1 set the entire evening.

    Boys Class A State Golf held in Rapid City

    The Boys Class A State Golf Tournament will be held in Rapid City at the Hart Ranch Golf Club. In 2022, the Titans from Vermillion were crowned Class A Team Champions followed by Aberdeen Roncalli and in a tie for third place, Dakota Valley and Sioux Valley.

    Panthers named Region 2A Champs, gear up for state

    An incredible feat was accomplished by the Panther varsity boys golf team on Monday, Sept. 25 as they were named Region 2A Champions in Elk Point and qualified for state.

    Panther Competition Cheer performs in Sioux Falls

    The competitive cheer squad for Dakota Valley travelled north on Tuesday, Sept. 26 to O’Gorman High School. The Panthers were one of 12 teams competing in Sioux Falls that day and they left town with their highest score of the season in overall points.

    Girls soccer holds senior night, ends in draw

    Senior night for the Panther girls soccer team was held on Thursday, Sept. 28 as Dakota Valley hosted Vermillion. Twelfth graders Emerson Bowen, Grace Meyer, Ashlynn Stusse, Ashley Neeser, Claire Hemmingsen and Josie Eckhardt were all honored for their commitment to the game and the DV girls soccer program.
