2024 Tri-County 4-H Horse Show grows in numbers

In spite of Mother Nature’s worst, with flooding and road closures, the 2024 Clay-Union-Yankton County Horse Show went off as scheduled. It was a huge success, with more 4-H Exhibitors entering more events than in any show in recent memory.

Elk Point-Jefferson has couple of tough losses

The Huskies had 2 games to start July as Elk Point-Jefferson’s senior legion squad faced off against strong opponents on July 2nd and July 3rd. Both games were close, however EPJ was on the losing side twice as they fell to Post 911 Chargers Legion from Sioux Falls and Post 1 from Vermillion.

Izaak Walton beacon for aid

The first of what will be many press conferences to address the area’s recent flooding was held near Izaak Walton McCook Lake on Sunday, June 30, at 4:45 p.m. It convened around 5:02 p.m.

McCullough runs at Nike Outdoor Nationals

Alex McCullough, of Wynstone, recently placed at the Nike Outdoor Nationals on June 12-13 in Eugene, OR. A soon to be freshman at Dakota Valley, Mc-Cullough ran against some of the fastest middle schoolers out there. She brought home 3rd place in the mile and 5th place for the 800m.

New dance studio located in Dakota Dunes

A new dance studio just opened up on 317 Dakota Dunes Blvd Suite E. in Dakota Dunes South Dakota. Elevate Dance Academy opened its doors offering two fun summer dance camps earlier this month. They are offering two more summer camps along with pop up classes in July.
