Dakota Valley Legion baseball squad starts season strong

Five baseball games in 3 days took the Dakota Valley Legion baseball squad to a record of 4-1 to start their season. They played Tea Post 266 Tin Caps on Thursday, June 6 for their 1st win and then went 1-1 on Friday, June 7. Two close games equaled 2 Panther victories on Saturday, June 8.

Dakota Valley State Golf 2024

The best golfers in South Dakota, for Class A, met up in Sioux Falls on June 3 and June 4 to take part in the 2024 state golf meet. Dakota Valley’s Katie Betsworth, Claire Wiebelhaus and Addicyn Sailer were among some of the finest to compete in the 2-day event at Bakker Crossing Golf Course.

Celebrating former Mayor Isabel Trobaugh

Union County 4-H Horse Show

The Union Clay and Yankton Tri-County Horse Show will be held June 25th starting at 9 a.m. at Chuck Donnely Family Farms in rural Elk Point. There will be 33 classes throughout the day with 4-H members showcasing horsemanship, initiative, responsibility and safety skills.

Elk Point-Jefferson Legion baseball starts season with wins

It was a doubleheader on Tuesday, June 4 for the Senior Legion Huskies as Elk Point-Jefferson played two 7-inning ball games against Harrisburg. Both were good contests that led to a pair of wins for EPJ.

Union Crossing plats approved, members appointed

Dakota Valley State Softball 2024

Aberdeen played host for the 2nd consecutive year of South Dakota State Softball Tournament action and Dakota Valley was there for 3 days of games from May 30-June 1. It was a successful run for the Panthers as they closed their season with a winning record and brought home the 5th place consolation champion trophy.

Elk Point-Jefferson State Softball 2024

The Elk Point-Jefferson Huskies had a strong showing at the SoDak 16 qualifier game in May to earn a return visit to the 2nd annual sanctioned South Dakota softball tournament. All games, for all classes in South Dakota, were held in Aberdeen.
