Local law enforcement officers, Special Olympics athletes and community members will take part in the annual Law Enforcement Torch Run in Elk Point on Monday, May 11. The event will begin at 11:15 a.m.

Panthers compete hard in tough road game at Madison

Dakota Valley softball faced top-ranked Madison on Monday, April 20, 2026 in an away contest. The game went 7 innings, but had the Panthers on the losing end by a score of 3-9. Senior Annie Bourne started in the circle and had 2 strikeouts for DV. Junior Emma Barnett pitched in relief and also had 2 Ks.

DV bats stay hot in two‑game sweep of Tri‑County

Two wins were secured by the Dakota Valley varsity baseball team versus the Tri-County Sundogs in mid-April. The Panthers were victorious by large margins in both contests as the bats were on fire and pitching was sound. Their opponents, the Tri-County Sundogs, consisted of players from Irene, Gayville, Volin, Wakonda, Hurley and Viborg.

Betsworth shoots even par to lead DV to second place

Competition began for Dakota Valley (DV) girls golf on April 13, 2026 with a quadrangular meet at Beresford. Panther varsity and junior varsity (JV) golfers pulled out their drivers, irons and putters to play The Bridges at Beresford Golf Course.

Huskies claim girls title, boys fifth at Wagner Invite

Competing in the Wagner Invite for track and field, on April 14, 2026, were Elk Point-Jefferson’s boys and girls teams. Top honors were achieved as the Husky girls claimed 1st place as a team and the Husky boys brought home 5th place. There were 16 girls’ teams at this meet and 17 boys’ teams.
