    The Panther legion baseball squad hosted nearby rival Elk Point-Jefferson (EPJ) on Monday, June 30, 2025. It was a nice victory for Dakota Valley as they captured the lead in the 2nd inning and never relinquished it.

    Elk Point-Jefferson got dealt 2 losses as they faced tough opponents in legion summer baseball on June 30 and July 2, 2025. It was a 3-11 defeat against Dakota Valley (DV) to end June and it was a 2-6 loss to Tabor to start July.

    The Panther legion baseball team was finally back at the ballpark on Sunday, June 29, 2025 after rainy weather delayed and canceled many scheduled games. It was a nice win for Dakota Valley versus Colton Legion Post 206 despite trailing 0-1 thoughout the first 4 innings of play.

    County advances bridge project

    The Union County Board of Commissioners held its regular meeting on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at 8:30 a.m. at the courthouse in Elk Point, South Dakota. All five commissioners— Chairman Ustad, Dailey, Joffer, Kimmel, and Ballard— were present. The board began by approving the meeting agenda and the minutes from the June 10 session.
