Boys win games with 68 points

The Elk Point-Jefferson Huskies won two road games during Winter Break, both with 68 points. The first game was against Irene-Wakonda Dec.

Huskies decimate Eagles

Elk Point-Jefferson travelled to Irene, SD in a non-region contest against the Irene-Wakonda Eagles Dec. 27. Even though only two days after Christmas festivities, the Huskies decimated the Eagles 60-34.

The Elk Point-Jefferson grapplers tralleved to Salem, SD to participate in the McCook Central/Montrose Invitational Dec. 31.

Ness to retire as CEO of First Dakota

Larry Ness, CEO and Board Chairman of First Dakota National Bank, retired as CEO on Dec. 30, 2022. Ness came to First Dakota in August 1983. At the time, First Dakota was a struggling bank that was expected to fail. Under his leadership, the bank rebounded and has enjoyed nearly four decades of growth and success. In 1983, First Dakota had one location and $42 million in assets. Today, they have 17 locations in 12 South Dakota cities with $2.7 billion in assets.
