Dooley announces resignation from Dakota Dunes CID

Jeff Dooley’s resignation was accepted after an executive session at the Dakota Dunes Community Improvement District (CID) Board of Supervisors meeting July 17. Dooley has been the District Manager of the CID for the last 23 years. His official resignation date is set for Sept. 1.

Learning the fundamentals of golf

Students of Elk Point-Jefferson have a rare ability to participate in a Junior Golf program every summer thanks to local volunteers. For the last 16 years Darrell Stone and Brian Wells have headed the Junior Golf program held at the Pointe Golf & Event Center on Mondays in June and July.

Evans-Raber, Green shoot at Nationals

Athletes and teams representing 466 high schools from across the nation participated at the 2023 USA High School Clay Target League National Championship July 5-10, 2023. The USAHSCTL National Championship, which was held at the Michigan Trapshooting Association in Mason, MI, featured team and individual competition to award the top ten male and female high school athletes and top five high school teams in the country.

EPJ baseball highlights from June

The Elk Point-Jefferson Legion baseball team competed in various games throughout June. The first half of June was previously published. Here are highlights from the last half of June: June 19 Tea 5, EPJ 4 at Tea Ben Swatek and Evan Hailey each had 2 of the Huskies 8 hits.

EPJ board discusses budget

The Elk Point-Jefferson School Board met July 10 in regular session to discuss the budget and adjourn the board from 2023 and begin the fiscal year 2024 board of education. The board convened at 5:30 p.m.
