    The Panther softball team traveled to Aberdeen on June 6-7, 2025 for their 3rd consecutive appearance in the Class A softball state tournament. Dakota Valley came into the tourney as a #3 seed and faced #6 Madison in their 1st round.

    DDCID approves new software

    The board of supervisors, for Dakota Dunes Community Improvement District (CID), held their monthly regular session meeting with District Manager Andrew Tramp present, along with board members: Ken Beaulieu, Scott Wetz, Julie Shanafelt, Janet Finzen and Bill Shorma. The CID’s attorney council, Darrell Jesse, was also at this meeting which was held on May 19, 2025. The following local residents were also on hand: Beth Noel, Sabrina Sayler for Dan Patee, Gary Pack, Joel Jarman and Shennen Saltzman.

    Dakota Valley State Golfers

    Dakota Valley sent a trio of golfers to the 2025 state golf meet at Madison Golf & Country Club in Madison, South Dakota. The best of the best from the state for Class A were competing on June 2-3, 2025.

    NSC discusses sediment removal

    The North Sioux City Commission held its regular meeting at City Hall, with Mayor Bogenrief presiding. Commissioners Hoffman, Burhoop, Strain, and Tucker attended, alongside City Administrator Jeff Dooley and City Finance Officer Amy Lilly. The meeting followed formal proceedings, beginning with the Pledge of Allegiance and the approval of the agenda and minutes from the May 27 session. As part of the city’s commitment to accessibility, the meeting was live-streamed and remains available for public viewing on the city’s website.

    5678! competes at Dance Worlds Competition

    North Sioux City’s 5678! Dance Studio made their mark at the 2025 Dance Worlds competition on April 25-28, 2025. The international contest was held at Disney's Coronado Springs Resort and Convention Center in Orlando, Florida. Multiple high placings and hardware were brought home by the local studio’s talented dance squads.

    North Sioux City Fire Department training facility ribbon cutting

    On June 5th, the North Sioux City Fire Department proudly unveiled its new state-of-the-art Training Facility. Designed to enhance the skills and preparedness of EMS, rescue, and fire personnel, this facility offers expanded opportunities for training, skill development, and professional growth.     Dakota Valley Legion team comes out swinging

    The Dakota Valley legion team opened up summer baseball play with 5 games in the 1st week of June. They went 3-2 to start with many more games on the schedule.

    Elk Point-Jefferson State Golfer Kommes

    Elk Point-Jefferson’s Sailor Kommes represented the Huskies well at the 2025 girls state golf meet in Madison, South Dakota. The competition took place on June 2-3, 2025. Kommes came out of regionals, on May 23, with a 21st placing to secure her ticket to the state meet.
