Girls compete at challenging Dell Rapids course

The EPJ Girls golf team competed on Tuesday, April 30 at a very difficult course at Rockey Run in Dell Rapids. It presents many challenges that The Pointe does not, elevation and multiple water features.

The Huskies Girls Golf Invitational, hosted by Elk Point-Jefferson, happened on Friday, May 3. Eight teams attended and weather conditions were finally favorable for the student athletes to hit the links.

Huskies lose by one to BAH

It was an away contest against Beresford/Alcester-Hudson (BAH) on Wednesday, May 1 for the Huskies. It was a game of defense for both sides as the scores were low with BAH winning 2-1.

EPJ baseball win one and drop one at home

The Elk Point-Jefferson baseball team played 2 games on May 5. It was a strong win for the Huskies versus Wagner by a score of 11-1. However, EPJ did not come out on top against the Cavaliers of Bon Homme.

Lady Huskies mount epic comeback against Watchdogs

The Elk Point-Jefferson softball squad mounted an epic comeback on Friday, May 3rd versus the Beresford Watchdogs. The final score would be 19-18 with the Huskies claiming victory in the final inning with 2 outs already in the book.

Clements recognized for 30 years of service

The list of accolades for Dakota Valley Activities Director Bill Clements is always growing. Recently, the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association (NIAAA) recognized Clements with an award honoring the longtime Panther administrator for his 30 years of service.

Girl Scout troops have night tour at Omaha zoo

The Elk Point Girl Scout Service Unit 334 did an overnight tour at the Omaha Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium on March 28-29, 2024. There were 35 Girl Scouts and 27 adult volunteers in attendance to enjoy this wonderful experience.

Prairie Park to have new equipment

At the last meeting, the Dakota Dunes Community Improvment District Board of Supervisors instructed District Manager Andrew Tramp and board member Janet Finzen to bring back playground designs and proposal costs to be discussed at the next meeting.

Gunderson, McCullough, Munch shatter records

School records fell at the Dakota Valley home track meet on Tuesday, April 23. It was also senior night where DV 12th graders met at the 50-yard-line, of the football field, at the midpoint of the meet to be honored for their hard work in the sport.

FCCLA attends state leadership conference

Panther high school students, involved with Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA), attended the state leadership conference on April 21-23. The event was held in Sioux Falls and allowed members to showcase their talents in the subjects of Family and Consumer Science (FACS).
