Panthers rally to overcome Tanagers in SoDak 16 playoff

Trailing 0-4 at one point in their SoDak 16 playoff game against Vermillion, the Panther softball team rallied to overtake the Tanagers in late innings on Wednesday, May 22. Sophomore Annie Bourne got the start for Dakota Valley and pitched the entirety of the game.

DV music department receives national recognition for music education support

For the 7th year, the Dakota Valley Schools has been honored with the Best Communities for Music Education designation from The NAMM Foundation for its outstanding commitment to music education. The Panther baseball squad entered regional play on May 22nd as the #1 seed for Region 1 with a regular season record of 15-2. Home field advantage existed for the Panthers as they faced Beresford/Alcester- Hudson in their 1st game.

Sieverding, Sommervold announce retirement

The Union County Commissioners accepted the retirement notices from Union County Auditor Jackie Sieverding and Chief Deputy Auditor Carol Sommervold at their meeting on May 14. Both notices have a retirement date of June 28. The commissioners thanked both for their years of service to the county.
