All-State Choir Clinic

The Elk Point-Jefferson choir is staying busy throughout the months of October and November. Katelyn Brunick, EPJ’s 5th-12th grade Choir & Vocal Jazz Director, is readily preparing the Huskies for an October 28th concert at the school. It is called the “Halloween Spook-tacular Choir Concert”.

Elk Point-Jefferson Huskies beat Fliers on senior night

The Huskies had a nice game against the Flandreau Fliers on Friday, October 11, 2024. The victory by a score of 21-14 was made even sweeter as it was senior and parents night, at home, for Elk Point-Jefferson.

EPJ runners compete well, look forward to home region meet

Warm October temperatures greeted the Elk Point-Jefferson cross country team for their meets at Vermillion on October 7, 2024 and in Lennox on October 10, 2024. At times conditions were windy, but the Huskies showed strength against competition from in and around southeastern South Dakota.

NSC council considers streaming meetings

The North Sioux City Council held its regular meeting on October 7, 2024, with Mayor Teel presiding. The meeting began promptly at 7:00 p.m. and was attended by several council members, City officials, and the City Attorney. The agenda for the meeting was amended to include a discussion on future council agenda items, which was approved unanimously.

NSC Fire Department Open House

The North Sioux City Fire/Rescue/EMS department hosted their annual open house on Sunday, October 13 from Noon-2 pm. Many attended to celebrate Fire Prevention Week and learn more about emergency response and safety.

Dunes Fall Festival

The Dakota Dunes Homeowner’s Association (HOA) hosted its annual Fall Festival on Sunday, October 6, 2024. In past years, the event took place on the tennis courts of the Dakota Dunes Country Club. However, this year, it was moved to Prairie Park. All in attendance appeared to enjoy the new venue and wonderful atmosphere.
