Huskies battle in tight doubleheader at Beresford

It was a doubleheader for Elk Point-Jefferson (EPJ) baseball on Friday, April 24, 2026. The destination was Beresford and the opponent was Beresford Area which is made up of players from Beresford, Centerville and Alcester-Hudson. Both contests were close, but unfortunately resulted in losses for EPJ by the scores of 5-7 and 3-10.

Huskies’ bats stay hot in busy week of soft ball action

A doubleheader happened on Monday, April 20, 2026 for the Elk Point-Jefferson (EPJ) softball team. Despite outstanding hitting, plus a rally in the bottom of the 7th, the Huskies fell to Lennox by a score of 8-10. Up next in the doubleheader was top ranked West Central (WC). An early lead by EPJ happened, but the WC Trojans had big bats in the 4th and 5th innings to defeat EPJ 3-15.

Consecutive nights of track and field were on the docket again for Elk Point-Jefferson (EPJ). The team was in Canton on Monday, April 20, 2026. The following day they were at Bon Homme’s meet, in Tyndall, for the Jim Flevares Relays.

Huskies answer DV setback with big road win

Two away games greeted Elk Point-Jefferson’s softball team in mid-April. They played nearby Dakota Valley (DV) on Monday, April 13, 2026. The Huskies then traveled to Wagner, on April 16, 2026, to face the Red Raiders.

Huskies claim girls title, boys fifth at Wagner Invite

Competing in the Wagner Invite for track and field, on April 14, 2026, were Elk Point-Jefferson’s boys and girls teams. Top honors were achieved as the Husky girls claimed 1st place as a team and the Husky boys brought home 5th place. There were 16 girls’ teams at this meet and 17 boys’ teams.

Huskies earn road win after early‑week loss to Tanagers

A lot of medals in gold, silver and bronze were accrued by Elk Point-Jefferson (EPJ) as student athletes competed in track and field at the 61st Annual Sioux City (SC) Relays. The event was held at Elwood Olsen Stadium and spans two days with middle school, high school and college programs all in attendance. The varsity Husky events happened on Saturday, April 11, 2026 in cold, but tolerable temperatures.

Young Huskies compete hard in early‑season tests

It was a tight contest for the Huskies in baseball on Friday, April 10, 2026 as they faced Canton in an away game. As the kickstart to the spring season, Elk Point-Jefferson battled and showcased strength on the field. The Huskies put 3 runs up on the scoreboard in the 3rd inning. However, the C-Hawks of Canton responded in the 4th with 4 runs. Each roster scored again in the 5th. This had EPJ on the losing end by a final score of 4-5.

Huskies sweep doubleheader, move to 3‑0

A trio of wins started the Elk Point-Jefferson (EPJ) softball season for spring 2026. It was a home opener victory for the Huskies, on March 30, 2026, versus Vermillion. Next it was a double- header on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at the Sanford Diamonds in Sioux Falls. The doubleheader meant double the victories for EPJ.
