Huskies stay hot with sweep of SFC, Canton

May 12, 2026 brought about a doubleheader for the Huskies in softball. It also led to double the wins as Elk Point-Jefferson claimed victories in both of their contests. They beat Sioux Falls-Christian by a score of 5-3 and bested Canton in a big way 20-4. Elk Point-Jefferson (EPJ) softball coach Amber Otkin was happy with her team’s play on the field and at the plate.

Elk Point-Jefferson varsity baseball went up against a strong Dakota Valley team on Monday, May 11, 2026. The Huskies were handed a loss, 0-14, in the away game in North Sioux City, South Dakota.

EPJ racks up medals at back‑to‑back meets

Beresford, on May 5, 2026, was the destination for the Elk Point-Jefferson track and field team. Several strong finishes, high marks and medals were secured by the Huskies. Gold medals went to Cera Schmitz, Gracelyn Campbell, Hailey Schmitz and the EPJ girls 1600m sprint medley.

Lady golfers gain experience in tough conditions at Vermillion Invite

Three Elk Point-Jefferson girls golfers competed at the Vermillion Invitational held Monday (May 4, 2026) at The Bluffs Golf Course, facing both a challenging layout and difficult weather conditions. A slow start made it tough for the Huskies to find their rhythm early in the round, but the golfers showed resilience as they settled in and improved their play over the course of the day.

Huskies hang tough in competitive weekend series

Three close games for Elk Point-Jefferson baseball made for lots of time on the field. It was a doubleheader versus Winner/ Colome on Saturday, May 9, 2026 and then a contest versus top ranked Vermillion on Sunday, May 10th. Unfortunately, a trio of losses occurred for the Huskies. Two of their battles came down to a deficit of 3 runs or less.

EPJ homers early but Beresford rallies late

With over a week of no games, the Elk Point-Jefferson softball team was ready to take the field versus the Watchdogs of Beresford on May 8, 2026. Both rosters came into the contest with competitive records and solid Class A rankings.

Panthers place second at home course, Two Rivers

Playing on their home golf course, Two Rivers in Dakota Dunes, the Panther girls golf team hosted the Dakota Valley (DV) Invite on Tuesday, April 28, 2026. It was a runner-up team finish for DV with a roster score of +46 over par. Sioux Falls Christian (SFC) claimed 1st place with a +29 finish. Vermillion took 3rd place at +56.

DV falls to Vermillion, responds with May Day win

Dakota Valley boys baseball ended April with a tough loss, but started the month of May with a win as the spring varsity season continues to unfold in South Dakota. The Panthers were defeated by the Vermillion Tanagers on April 30, 2026 by a score of 3-10. On May 1, 2026 it was a 6-2 win for Dakota Valley (DV).

Elk Point-Jefferson played a lot of baseball to end April and start the month of May. A doubleheader versus the Tri-County Sundogs happened on April 30, 2026. The match-up resulted in a pair of Husky wins. Tough games versus Scotland/Menno and Canton on May 2, 2026 had Elk Point-Jefferson (EPJ) on the losing side. More fierce play continued on Monday, May 4, 2026 against Beresford.
