South Derby Lane temporarily closed

South Derby Lane will be temporarily closed beginning Wednesday, Aug. 10. It will be closed immediately north of where the roadway turns from concrete to seal-coat and a detour will be setup. This closure will last approximately three weeks, and contractors hope to have it open to traffic by the end of the month.

Residents concerned about lake canal extension rumors

The city, having received some calls about the project did some digging and made calls of their own.

UNAPPROVED NORTH SIOUX CITY, SOUTH DAKOTA CITY COUNCIL REGULAR MEETING MINUTES AUGUST 1, 2022

Meeting called to order at 7:00 pm by Mayor Teel. Benson, Bogenrief, Carpenter, Christiansen, Green, Parks, and Spates were present. Berg was absent. Also in attendance were City Administrator Eric Christensen, City Finance Officer Amy Lilly, and City Attorney Darrell Jesse. Mayor Teel led the Pledge of Allegiance. Motion by Benson, second by Spates, to approve the agenda with the addition of an executive session for legal. All members present voted aye. Motion carried. Motion by Green, second by Bogenrief, to approve the July 18, 2022 Regular Council Meeting Minutes. All members present voted aye. Motion carried. Motion by Benson, second by Green, to enter public hearing for Dollar General Alcohol Licenses at 7:01 pm. All members present voted aye. Motion carried. No public comments were heard. Administrator Christensen informed Council that the licenses that the state issues for beer and wine are on/off sale licenses. If Council wishes to further limit them to off sale only, they will need to do so by ordinance. Motion by Benson, second by Christiansen, to close public hearing at 7:03 pm. All members present voted aye. Motion carried.
