Panthers punch ticket to state tournament

Centerville, South Dakota was the neutral site for Dakota Valley’s volleyball match in the SoDak 16 qualifier versus Platte-Geddes. The contest took place on Tuesday, November 11, 2025 with the winner punching a ticket to the Class A state tournament. The Panthers were the #1 seed and Platte-Geddes came in seeded #16.

Dakota Valley marks Veterans Day with gratitude

Veterans Day was celebrated in the Panther’s high school gym on Tuesday, November 11, 2025. Dakota Valley students in grades 4th-12th, along with the general public, assembled for the patriotic event and a large crowd was in attendance. Student council president Noah Graham was the first to take the podium as he explained the history of Veterans Day and welcomed all to DV.

DV approves hires, equipment purchase

County acts on zoning, licenses, fair rules

The Union County Board of Commissioners met Nov. 12 at the courthouse in Elk Point, where members approved rezoning for Rancho Pacifica, renewed liquor licenses and adopted new Union County Fair Board by-laws.

DV safe after soft lockdown

Following orders from the North Sioux Police Department, the Dakota Valley school district went into a “soft lockdown” on Friday, November 14, 2025. This meant no one was permitted to leave or enter any of the school buildings. The lockdown was put in place as NSC police officers handled an ongoing situation near DV’s campus.
