With Thanksgiving approaching, I’ve been reflecting on how grateful I am for the people who serve our city and support our community in so many ways.
To the staff who keep our city running every day - thank you. From Public Works to Police, Fire, and Emergency Services, to our Library, Finance and Administrative staff, each of you plays an essential role. Whether it’s clearing streets, managing budgets, answering resident questions, keeping our neighborhoods safe, or creating welcoming spaces for learning and connection, your dedication makes a real difference.
I’m also thankful for the residents who volunteer their time to serve on committees like Planning and Zoning, Parks and Recreation, and Housing and Redevelopment. These groups play a hands-on role in shaping everything from how land is used to how our public spaces are cared for and improved. Their thoughtful guidance and willingness to serve help ensure our city continues to reflect the needs and priorities of the people who call it home.
To the North Sioux City Economic Development Corporation and its staff - thank you for your continued work to bring new opportunities, jobs, and growth to our community. And to the City Administrator and my fellow Commissioners, I appreciate your steady leadership, thoughtful collaboration, and shared commitment to serving North Sioux City with integrity and vision. Whether you’re serving in an official role or simply showing up for your neighbors, your efforts matter. North Sioux City is stronger because of you. I’m proud to serve alongside such a dedicated and caring community, and I’m thankful every day to call this place home.
Wishing you and your families a safe and meaningful Thanksgiving season. Warmly, Mayor Chris Bogenrief
