Senior Legion EPJ Huskies claim two more wins

Two wins were claimed by the Elk Point-Jefferson Legion baseball team on July 16 and July 17. They faced Post 174 Senior Legion on Tuesday, July 16 and won 11-4.

Elk Point-Jefferson 14U VFW advances to state

Elk Point-Jefferson’s 14U VFW squad punched their ticket to state after impressive wins in bracket play for the 14U Class A Region 6 on July 15-17. The Huskies were hosts for the contest and went up against Vermillion and Dakota Valley 13U.

Only foot traffic allowed on Northshore

As of Monday, July 15 the flood relief efforts in the local area were going strong. A special update was issued regarding “extremely heavy construction” happening on Northshore Drive for the next 5-7 days. This matter has caused much more limited access to the area. Northshore Drive’s impacted area can only have foot traffic with no contractors or vehicles allowed until July 21.

Jefferson Days of ‘59

Hot temperatures did not keep people away from the town of Jefferson on July 11-14 as the town celebrated Jefferson Days of ‘59. Fun activities and camaraderie was had throughout the mornings, afternoons and evenings for this annual event.

Dakota Valley Panthers split wins with the EPJ Huskies

There were 2 legion baseball games played on July 8 between Dakota Valley and Elk Point, with each side taking 1 win. Both contests were close with the Panthers losing the 1st game by a score of 6-7 and then earning the victory 4-2 in the next match-up.

School board discusses budget, personnel
