EPJ Huskies 8-1 heading into the final stretch of games

The Huskies have been playing great ball this spring with many exciting games happening to close out April and start the month of May. A close battle ensued on Friday, April 25, 2025 when Elk Point-Jefferson hosted Freeman/ Canistota/Marion (FCM).

EPJ track and field earns medals, sets personal records

It was a gorgeous night in North Sioux City for the Huskies as they competed in track and field at the Dakota Valley Invite on Tuesday, April 29, 2025. A lot of medals came home with EPJ as multiple individuals and relay teams secured high finishes.

Huskies gain experience at DV Invite

It was a windy day of golf for the Elk Point-Jefferson girls roster on Monday, April 28, 2025 at the Dakota Valley Invite. The golf meet took place at Two Rivers Golf Course, in Dakota Dunes, which is the home course for the DV Panthers. The competition involved play of 18 holes and in addition to EPJ and DV also included schools from: Vermillion, Madison, West Central, Tea, Canton and Lennox.

Panthers exciting comeback win against Huskies

It was a come from behind win to kickstart Dakota Valley’s softball season on April 4, 2025. The Panthers were at Elk Point-Jefferson in an away contest. The weather was cold and damp, but the fans were loud.

EPJ drops season opener to Parkston

An away game, at Parkston, marked Elk Point-Jefferson’s 1st spring baseball game of the season. The Trojans of Parkston had hot bats early versus the Huskies. This ultimately had EPJ falling 1-6 after 7 innings of play.

Huskies opening week packed with competition

Opening week of South Dakota high school softball had the Huskies very busy. They played multiple games and garnered some great wins. Elk Point-Jefferson’s 1st softball contest of the season was in Vermillion on Monday, March 31, 2025.

Husky youth wrestlers compete at state

Elk Point-Jefferson youth wrestlers descended on West River on March 28-30, 2025. Ten Husky grapplers hit the mats for the 2025 state tournament in Rapid City. The event took place in Summit Arena at The Monument. There were thousands of wrestlers from across the state in attendance and it was noted to be the largest SD state youth tournament to date.

Panther youth wrestlers compete at state

The Panther wrestling club sent several youth grapplers to Rapid City, on March 28-30, 2025, for the South Dakota state tournament. Epic matches were observed as all of Dakota Valley represented well on the mats of Summit Arena at The Monument.

DAK XII Boys All-Conference Honors for Basketball

The high school basketball season has concluded in South Dakota, however honors are still being announced. A few senior Panther boys picked up nods from the DAK XII. All-conference recognition for their great play throughout the 2024/25 season was awarded to: -2024/25 All-Conference 1st Team: Luke Bruns.
