Panthers fall to Vermillion in regional matchup

Panther junior Bella Stokes opened up scoring for Dakota Valley (DV) with a 3-pointer at their regional game, in Vermillion, on February 24, 2026. Their opponent, the Tanagers, then scored 6 points off a pair of plays. Junior Sophie Meyer was tasked with guarding Vermillion’s top athlete, Taylor Reuvers, and stuck by her on the perimeter and the baseline. Meyer worked hard to contain the strong guard.

Huskies finish year in regional matchup at SFC

Regional postseason play happened for the Elk Point-Jefferson girls basketball team on Tuesday, February 24, 2026. The Huskies traveled to Sioux Falls to battle the Chargers of Sioux Falls Christian (SFC). Rated as #7, in Region 4’s Class A, EPJ would need an upset over #2 seeded SFC to advance.

EPJ spotlights seniors in final home game

Senior night for the Husky boys coincided with their basketball home game, versus the West Central Trojans, on Monday, February 23, 2026. The stands were packed as many came to cheer on the 12th graders and Elk Point-Jefferson in their last home game of the regular season.

DV girls rebound with big Senior Night win

The regular season for high school girls basketball included a game versus Tri-Valley (TV) and a contest against Madison for the Panthers. Dakota Valley went on the road, on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, to face the TV Mustangs. They then hosted Madison for DV’s senior night where Jaidyn Jund was honored for her many seasons of hard work for the Panthers.

Panthers punch four tickets to state tourney

All of the Panther wrestling team’s hard work, in the regular season, came to a head at the Class 2A Region tourneys. The girls tournament was held on Thursday, February 19, 2026 in Elk Point. The boys competed on Friday, February 20, 2026 in Harrisburg.

A triple dose of games greeted the Panther boys basketball team during the 3rd week of February. Competitive play began for the Dakota Valley (DV) boys varsity team as they ventured into Iowa to battle Sioux City (SC) West on February 17, 2026. Both squads had been playing great ball which made for an exciting match-up in the metro area.

Lady Huskies close regular season with strong effort

It was a slow offensive start in the varsity girls basketball game between the Huskies and the Centerville Tornadoes on Monday, February 16, 2026. Elk Point-Jefferson was playing away and it would be over a minute before either team put marks up on the scoreboard.

EPJ pushes Centerville to the buzzer in tight contest

Senior Anthony Tatro secured the first point for the Huskies in their away game versus the Centerville Tornadoes on Monday, February 16, 2026. It was a fast paced game where every point mattered. It was tied at 8-8 before Centerville was able to hit a couple of 3s to garner an advantage. However, the Huskies grabbed back 4 points as time dwindled in the 1st quarter. The Tornadoes converted on a final shot and it was 12-16 to begin the 2nd.
