Soccer season started with a bang for the Panther girls varsity team, as they took down the reigning Class A state champions. Up against the Chargers of Sioux Falls Christian (SFC), it was a huge victory for Dakota Valley on their home turf on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, An outstanding bleacher crowd had DV pumped up on the pitch. Midfielders and DV’s frontline worked the ball well to start the contest. Junior Isabella Mijangos took a shot on goal, at the beginning of the match, however it was just wide. The Panthers then had a corner kick with 29 minutes left until halftime. It was a good offensive opportunity, but did not produce a score. The Panthers spent quality minutes in SFC’s territory to keep up the pressure. Freshman Mallory Riibe had a low shot attempt on goal that the Charger’s keeper was able to deflect.
