Panther girls surge to 3-0 start, top Class A rankings

Soccer season started with a bang for the Panther girls varsity team, as they took down the reigning Class A state champions. Up against the Chargers of Sioux Falls Christian (SFC), it was a huge victory for Dakota Valley on their home turf on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, An outstanding bleacher crowd had DV pumped up on the pitch. Midfielders and DV’s frontline worked the ball well to start the contest. Junior Isabella Mijangos took a shot on goal, at the beginning of the match, however it was just wide. The Panthers then had a corner kick with 29 minutes left until halftime. It was a good offensive opportunity, but did not produce a score. The Panthers spent quality minutes in SFC’s territory to keep up the pressure. Freshman Mallory Riibe had a low shot attempt on goal that the Charger’s keeper was able to deflect.

Panther golfers tie for first in season opener

Two varsity golf meets occurred during the 1st week of school for the Panthers, which meant 2 different rosters represented Dakota Valley to commence the fall season. On August 19, 2025 the Panthers golfed at West Central and varsity had a great showing.

DV boys soccer opens season with gritty road performance

The Panther boys high school soccer team started off the fall season on Saturday, August 16, 2025 with an away match versus the Freeman Academy Bobcats. It was a close contest that had Dakota Valley leading at the half by a score of 2-1. However, their opponent made some adjustments in the 2nd half to overcome the deficit and take the lead. The Panthers were handed a loss by a score of 3-5.

Panthers 14u team takes fourth at state tournament

The Dakota Valley 14u legion baseball team played on Ronken Field, at Augustana University in Sioux Falls, on August 8-10, 2025. The team worked hard and finished in 4th place among strong competition.

Panthers seniors battle to final day, earn third at state

A 20-8 season record and 3rd place finish at state was how the Dakota Valley senior legion team ended their run in Milbank on Tuesday, August 5, 2025. The Panthers rebounded well from an opening game loss, on August 1, to persevere and extend their run at state into the last day of play.

Dakota Valley 16U also ends season with third-place finish

An impressive season for the Dakota Valley 16u Junior Legion squad ended with a 3rd place state finish on August 10, 2025. The Panthers were in Milbank, South Dakota for post-season play after a regional win versus Beresford on July 29, 2025.

2025 DV Fall sports coaches

Summer is still here, but the Dakota Valley Panthers are already looking ahead to the fall activities season. The annual fall sports meeting happened on Monday, August 4, 2025 with the Panther’s Athletic Director Bill Clements leading the assembly. Coaches for DV this fall meet with parents and student athletes after hearing from guest speakers at the meeting.

DV Senior Legion team shows grit at state

Milbank, South Dakota was the destination for Dakota Valley’s Senior Legion baseball team as they made their way there for the state tournament on August 1-5, 2025. Strong regional play combined with an overall 17-6 record had strong energy following the team from North Sioux City.

DV Sideline Cheer

It will be football season soon and sideline cheer tryouts have already taken place for Dakota Valley as everyone gears up for Friday Night Lights in 2025. Thirteen student athletes were selected to be a part of the Panther sideline cheer squad for football. A mixture of upperclassmen seniors and juniors in addition to some sophomores make up the team.

Walk-off wonders: Panthers punch ticket to State

The Panther’s senior legion baseball team showed up for regionals in a big way to advance to the South Dakota 2025 Class “B” Senior American Legion Baseball State Championship Tournament. To get there, Dakota Valley garnered wins on each day of regional play from July 21-23, 2025.
