Lady Huskies season ends in first round of regions

It was a tough first round region match up as the Elk Point-Jefferson Huskies played Tea Area again. They had just finished the regular season a few days earlier with a loss to the Titans. Unfortunately, that didn’t change in the region game either as the Huskies fell 36-56.
Ben Swatek, pictured here at an earlier meet, took 1st place in the Region 2B meet in Salem Feb. 18. He’s one of the eight Huskies that are advancing to the state tournament.

The Huskies had a great showing at the South Dakota High School Activities Association Region 2B Wrestling Tournament, Feb. 18 at Salem. Eight Elk Point-Jefferson wrestlers garnered a first-fourth place finish in their brackets in order to qualify for the state tournament.
