The Sioux City Metros garnered a first place finish at Midwest High School Hockey League Tournament March 3-5 to be named State Champions. Their 5-4 win over the Des Moines Oak Leafs secured the championship.

The Metros first game was against number one seeded Kansas City Jets, which the Metros won 7-4. Next up for the Metros were the Oak Leafs to take the championship.
