Enhancing community safety through International Fire Code 2024 Adoption

Earlier this year, the community took a considerable step towards ensuring safety by embracing the International Fire Code 2024. This code serves as a crucial tool in establishing the minimum requirements for offering a reasonable level of life safety and property protection from fire hazards, explosions, and dangerous conditions in new and existing buildings, structures, and premises. Moreover, it ensures the safety of our firefighters and emergency responders during operational crises.

Mammal Mania Summer Camp at Adams

Summer camp season has started at the Adams Homestead and Nature Preserve. The first camp, which occurred from June 11 to June 13, was called “Mammal Mania” and it was open to children ages 5, 6 or 7.

Community asks for updates on development

At least two concerned citizens attended the Elk Point City Council meeting on June 4 to inquire about the new development going into the empty field located between the Pointe Golf Course and Country Club Estates.

Timmi Johnson wanted the new subdivision plans to reflect the property she owns on the map better, as the original plan was outdated in that regard.
