Adapting Animals Nature Camp was held at the Adams Nature Preserve on June 27th, June 28th and June 29th. It was a hot three days for the campers, ages 8-10 years old, but a lot of enjoyment was had as they learned about a variety of animals and how they adapt in different surroundings.

Vocal sound impressionist and entertainer, Charlie Williams, visited the North Sioux City library on Thursday, June 29. A full room of children, parents and librar y patrons watched the 45 minute show during week five of the summer reading program.

Middle schoolers at Dakota Valley packed in a lot of history and tourism from June 2 to June 5 as they travelled to the nation’s capital. The trip was a chance for Panther students to take in Washington D.C. and surrounding areas. It is a planned event that has happened annually for a number of years.

A joint agency training was held Wednesday, June 28 at Graham Airfield. The North Sioux City Fire Department worked with Graham Airfield staff to create an emergency response plan outlining emergency contacts, different hazards on the property, accessibility to the airfield, as well as discussed their planned and proposed projects to anticipate how emergency responders can ensure effective emergency response to the airfield in the event of an emergency.
