At the request of a citizen, the council directed a stop sign be installed for the safety of Elk Point residents. Greg Hollenbeck approached the Elk Point City Council Aug. 2 and asked that a stop sign be added at the intersections of Lexington Street and Country Club Drive. The council directed Public Work Director Trevor Job to install the stop sign.
The council approved Resolution 2022-4 – Clarifying discretionary formula. During the 2022 legislative session certain provisions were updated concerning the discretionary formula, and this resolution modifies to those updates.
The council decided to table the amended Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the city and Elk Point Investments, L.L.P. as the council would like clarification on the MOU before approving.
First readings to Ordinances No. 417 – City Administrator and No. 418 – Setback Regulations were held.
The council approved the purchase of materials for the cemetery memorial honoring members of armed forces and first responders for $4,889.61. The amount was originally budgeted to purchase trees for the cemetery.
A special meeting was scheduled for Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2022 at 7 a.m. to hold first reading for the 2023 budget. The next regular meeting was rescheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 7 at 7 p.m. due to the Labor Day holiday.
