Fifty-nine years ago, a mother saved her daughter’s life by giving her daughter one of her own kidneys. Nancy (Wennblom) Ludwig was 18 at the time of the kidney transplant. Ludwig was diagnosed with Acute Glomerulonephritis, which at the time they believed to be caused by strep throat, requiring her to have a new kidney.
