The Elk Point-Jefferson Jazz Band competed at the Brooking Optimist Jazz Festival Thursday, April 13. The band earned 1st place in their last competition of the year.

The Brookings Op t imist Jazz Fest ival is quite large, but groups are divided into classes based on the enrollment of their schools. The EPJ Jazz Band was placed in Class B with three other schools.
