Youth Huskies wrestle at AAU State Tournament

Four Huskies participated in the AAU state wrestling tournament in Aberdeen on March 25-26. The event took place at Northern State University in Wachs Arena.

Bruns,Rosenquist play in shootout

Dakota Valley seniors Isaac Bruns and Randy Rosenquist were chosen to play on the Class A team for the Three-Class Shootout. They played in Salem, SD March 25.

Panthers have good showing at Wrestling AAU State Tournament

Six youth wrestlers from the Panther Wrestling Club were in Aberdeen on March 25-26 for the AAU state wrestling tournament. After making their way through districts and regionals, the grapplers hit the mats to take on the best in South Dakota. Leif Dewald, Jaxon Dice, Darian Feese, Graham Riibe, Leo Riibe and Kenzie Scott all had strong performances. The event took place at Northern State University in Wachs Arena.

Buzzer beater leads Huskies to 4th place finish March 16, 2023 will be a night to remember for Devon Schmitz. Not only because it was his birthday, but his last second 3-point shot sent the Huskies into the winning side of the Class A State Boys Basketball tournament brackets.

Bruns, Rosenquist to participate in 3-Class Shootout

The 35th Annual 3-Class Shootout basketball All-Star game will be held on Saturday, March 25 at the McCook Central Auditorium in Salem, SD. All three classes in both boys and girls will be represented by many of the top seniors in South Dakota. The games are as follows:

EPJ Boys battle hard to win state berth

The Elk Point-Jefferson Huskies showed their grit, determination and persistence to overcome the Waubay/Summit Mustangs March 9. With the 58-50 win, the Huskies advanced to the state tournament.

Sioux City Metros capture state title

The Sioux City Metros garnered a first place finish at Midwest High School Hockey League Tournament March 3-5 to be named State Champions. Their 5-4 win over the Des Moines Oak Leafs secured the championship.

Huskies headed to state in youth wrestling

The Youth Huskies competed at regions in Yankton on Saturday (3/11). The top three in each weight class earned the opportunity to advance to the state tournament in Aberdeen.

Curry continues success in athletics

An Elk Point-Jefferson alum has continued her success in athletics on the collegiate scale. Curry had an outstanding career as a Husky qualifying for the South Dakota High School Activities Association Class A State Track and Field three times.
