DV takes 3rd at home meet

Two Rivers Golf Course in North Sioux City was the site for the Dakota Valley Girls Golf Invite on Monday, April 24. The Panthers represented well with the team taking home 3rd place in a competitive field. The varsity roster would be plus-83 over par to finish ahead of 4th place Canton who had a team score of plus-88. Sioux Falls Christian would achieve 1st place with a plus-68 and Vermillion was 2nd with a plus-75.

Boys Basketball to hold Awards Night

The Dakota Valley Boys Basketball team is inviting the community to celebrate their Awards Night with them Sunday, May 7. This free event will be held at the North Sioux City Community Center at 205 Sodrac Drive (next to the North Sioux City Fire Hall) from 4 to 6 p.m.

DV Panthers currently ranked #1 in softball

The Chargers from Sioux Falls Christian came south to go up against the undefeated Panthers on Monday, April 24. The Chargers would leave with a loss and DV’s winning streak would continue as the Panthers came away with a 12-0 victory.

Pruchniak throws 200th strike for Dakota Valley

The Dakota Valley baseball team did some travelling on Sunday, April 23 and Monday, April 24 for back-to-back away games. Their 1st contest was versus Parker and the next evening the Panthers faced off with Bon Homme.

Panther athletes break school, meet records

Multiple school and meet records fell at the Dakota Valley Track and Field Invite on Tuesday, April 25. Sophomore Jack Brown is now the fastest Panther in the 3200m run at 9:58.30 for the boys. Also, the 4x800m relay team of Ella Otten, Maylee Rose, Sophia Redler and Alex McCullough are at the top of the DV records books for the girls with their race time of 9:57.55.

SDHSCA names Kleis Coach of the Year

The South Dakota High School Coaches Association named Dakota Valley’s Head Boys Basketball Coach Jason Kleis as Coach of the Year. Kleis, an Orange City, IA native, led the Panthers to back-to-back Class A State Champions in 2022 and 2023.

EPJ Huskies go 1-2 during two weeks of play

The Huskies had four contests from April 13-21. The Elk Point-Jefferson softball team played Gayville- Volin April 13, Beresford April 14 and West Central April 17.

EPJ Girls host first dual

The Elk Point-Jefferson girls golf team hosted a dual with Dakota Valley and two Flandreau players April 18 on their home golf course at The Pointe. Madison Buenger of EPJ was the individual medalist for the contest with the lowest score of 41.

Boys basketball holds awards night

The Elk Point-Jefferson Boys Basketball team held their awards night Tuesday, April 18. The team had 19 letter winners.

Huskies put Panthers on their toes, tame Tornadoes

A contest against rival Dakota Valley had Elk Point-Jefferson pushing themselves to do better. The Huskies worked hard, but fell just short of winning the baseball game April 17 at home.
