Elk Point-Jefferson boys win 3 out of 4 last weeks

The Elk Point-Jefferson Huskies had a full week of games from May 2 to May 7 with four games. They played against Vermillion May 2, Freeman/Canistota May 4 and Bon Homme and Wagner May 7.

Athletes participate in northern competitions

The Panthers represented well in Lennox on Tuesday, May 2 at the Rich Luther Relays. The girls team would place 3rd at the meet and the boys would bring home 5th. Many medals were awarded to the Panthers in the relays, sprints, distant runs and field events.

Carlson signs on to swim at NWU

Dakota Valley senior Emily Carlson signed a letter of intent to continue her swimming career with Nebraska Weselyan University which is located in Lincoln, NE. Carlson swam for the Siouxland Sharks and her head coach Heather Farris is happy for Carlson to take her swimming abilities to the next level.

VanDenHul, Anderson, Pollema pitch for Panther wins

It was a close 1st inning and then the Dakota Valley boys baseball team blew it up in scoring to defeat Canistota/Freeman 18-2 on Sunday, April 30. The Panthers gave up 1 run at the very start of the game, but answered quickly with 2 runs of their own in the 1st inning.

Dakota Valley Panthers play 9 games in 6 days

It was 9 games in 6 days for the Panther varsity softball team as they headed into May. Dakota Valley ended April undefeated, but would see fierce competition in their week of games from May 1-6.

EPJ Huskies go 1-1 during weekend contests

The Elk Point-Jefferson Huskies played two contests with varying results on April 28 and 30. Starting off the weekend, the Huskies went up against the Canton C-Hawks in an away game.

Dakota Valley hosted their _rst golf meet of the season at the Two Rivers Golf Course Monday, April 24. It was Elk Point-Jefferson’s _rst 18-hole event.

Homeruns plentiful for lady Huskies last week

The Huskies decided it was time act like it was a Homerun Derby during their last week of softball games. Multiple players for Elk Point-Jefferson were speeding around the bases after their crack of the bats and seeing homeplate as a result.

Huskies compete at DV Invite

On Tuesday, April 26, the EPJ track girls and boys made the short drive to North Sioux City to participate in the Dakota Valley Invite. This meet was highly competitive in some of the events with the addition of top-tier teams. The ten teams at the Invite were Sioux Falls Christian, Dakota Valley, Elk Point-Jefferson, Canton, Dell Rapids, South Sioux City, Tea Area, West Central, Lennox, and Vermillion.

Curry and McDermott excel in Yankton

On Thursday, April 27 the EPJ Huskies Boys and Girls Track teams headed west to Yankton to compete in the First Dakota Relays. With 17 teams in participation, the day promised to be highly competitive. The chilly, windy and rainy weather conditions, coupled with the meet being over nine hours long, made this not only a test of speed, endurance or strength, but also of fortitude!
