Lady Huskies decimate Beresford, Canton

The Elk Point-Jefferson Huskies softball team had a great couple weeks of play with more ladies garnering homeruns and decimating the Canton C-Hawks. On Fr iday, May 5 against Beresford Hannah Nearman hit her first over the fence homerun.

Girls golf in Hartford, Vermillion Invites

On May 8, the Elk Point-Jefferson Huskies travelled to Hartford to participate in West Central’s Invite. Out of 14 teams, EPJ placed 8th. Sioux Falls Christian (SFC) brought home the team title. Tori Peterson of SFC was an individual medalist with a score of 75.

Dakota Valley defeats Elk Point-Jefferson in close contest

The Panther baseball team played on Tuesday, May 9 on their home field. It was an exciting game versus the Huskies of Elk Point-Jefferson. An extra inning and a walk-off winning hit capped off the incredible contest between the two schools.

DV Panthers named to All-Conference teams

A lightning delay in the middle of the DAK-XII conference track meet at Vermillion on Thursday, May 11 did not slow down the Panther athletes. Personal records and high event placings still occurred despite Mother Nature’s temper. The Dakota Valley girls track team were runner-ups of the DAK-XII conference behind a powerhouse Sioux Falls Christian squad. The Panther boys placed 8th as a team in a tough field of competition.

Dakota Valley Panthers rank toward top in Class A

In an away game for the Panther softball team there were plenty of baserunners for Dakota Valley to make quick work of a win on Tuesday, May 9. All 9 varsity batters would get up to the plate in the 1st inning for DV to secure 6 runs early.

Central Valley Golf Course in Hartford, SD was the destination site for the Dakota Valley girls golf team on Monday, May 8. Panther varsity golfers played well at the West Central Invite to place 4th as a team out of 14.

Panther golfers bring home two 4th place finishes

The Panther girls varsity golf crew was at Rocky Run Golf Course in Dell Rapids on May 1 for the Quarrier Invite. Stiff competition was on hand, but Dakota Valley played solid rounds to tie for 4th place as a team.

EPJ has 4 podium finishes, breaks 3 school records Howard Wood

The EPJ Huskies Track teams sent 11 athletes to the Howard Wood Dakota Relays in Sioux Falls. This elite twoday event on May 5 and 6 features track and field athletes from the surrounding states. Although the forecast called for storms on both days, both days went off without a hitch.

Husky Girls place 3rd at Beresford Lions Invite

The EPJ Husky track teams were one of six teams present at the Beresford Lions Invite along with West Central, Canton, Tea Area, Beresford and Vermillion. With yet another windy day, the conditions were great for the short sprints with a strong north tailwind, and rough for the longer races with the vicious headwind on the back stretch.

Golfers continue to improve scores

The Elk Point-Jefferson Huskies continue to improve their golf game as the season continues. There haven’t been very many nice days for the meets where the wind is steady or non-existent and the weather cooperates.
