Huskies state run ends in second round of region play

It wasn’t a trick, but all treats for the Huskies as they once again defeated the Vermillion Tanagers on Oct. 31. Although, this time, the defeat ended the season for the Tanagers and advanced the Huskies further in the Region 4A bracket.

Dakota Valley Panthers advance to the SoDak-16

The night of Halloween also marked the 1st round of regional volleyball for Dakota Valley. The Panthers made swift work of the Parker Pheasants to take 3 sets quickly by scores of 2518, 25-7 and 25-7.

Huskies battle in wet conditions to advance to state semi-finals

It was a cold, windy and wet contest between the Elk Point-Jefferson Huskies and Tri-Valley Mustangs Thursday, Oct. 26. With the weather playing a factor for both teams, the real challenge for the athletes was to keep their footing and catch a wet pigskin. The winner of this game advanced to the semi-finals Nov. 3.

EPJ Huskies advance on to quarterfinal round

For the first time since 2008, the Groton Area Tigers challenged the Elk Point-Jefferson Huskies on the football field. In the first round of playoffs, Groton Area played at EPJ on Thursday, Oct. 19 at 6 p.m.

DV Competive Cheer performs at state tournament

A wonderful experience was had by the Dakota Valley competitive cheer team at state, in Sioux Falls, on Oct. 20. The Friday competition had the Panthers performing early at the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center.

Dakota Valley Panthers paw down Vermillion Tanagers

For the last home volleyball game of the regular season, the Panthers hosted Vermillion. And it was quite the Friday, as Dakota Valley brought their brooms and swept the court versus the Tanagers in 3 straight sets.
