CONGRATULATIONS

Huron, in Beadle County, saw quite the uptick in population on Saturday, October 25, as the best high school runners in South Dakota descended on the area for the 2025 state meet. The Huskies made up some of those numbers as the Elk Point-Jefferson boys team was in town to compete.

Congrats Panther State Cross Country Runners!

Two cross country runners represented Dakota Valley at the state meet, in Huron, on October 25, 2025. And both brought home medals. Running against the best of the best in Class A, for South Dakota, these two Panthers worked hard to attack the 5K trail at state. They made all of their fans, family, teammates and school incredibly proud.

DV sweeps Vermillion on senior night, eyes state run

Senior night was a fun celebration to go along with the Panther’s volleyball sweep on Friday, October 24, 2025. The current senior student athletes for Dakota Valley were announced prior to the game. From there DV wasted no time in claiming a home victory against the Tanagers of Vermillion.

Huskies surge past Mustangs, outlast Madison

The Huskies were in Tri-Valley (TV) territory to play the Mustangs for volleyball on Tuesday, October 21, 2025. A good match was ahead as Elk Point-Jefferson (EPJ) looked to leave town with a win.

Huskies roll past Fliers in 11B playoff opener

Hosting the 1st round of postseason football playoffs were the Elk Point-Jefferson Huskies on Thursday, October 23, 2025. Their opponent was Flandreau and the game was the start of South Dakota’s 11B rounds. Sixteen teams are advancing to the postseason and all have the ultimate goal of earning a chance to play for a state championship in the DakotaDome in mid-November. The Huskies are #1 and Flandreau was the #16 seed.

Panthers fall to SFC in season finale, honor seniors

Thursday Night Lights was what would happen for the Panther varsity football game on October 23, 2025. It was an away contest against the top ranked Chargers of Sioux Falls Christian. Dakota Valley had a mishap to start which meant the SFC Chargers grabbed a fumble and garnered a quick 6 points in the opening moments.

The Panthers had the benefit of the wind to start the Class A state championship finals versus Sioux Falls Christian (SFC) on Saturday, October 18, 2025. It was a breezy day, with big wind gusts, at Sioux Park in Rapid City.

Dakota Valley pushes through adversity in final home game

The last home football game of the regular season for Dakota Valley was held on Friday, October 17, 2025. The Panthers were playing the Tanagers of Vermillion. It would be a tough contest as DV was handed a loss by a score of 6-27. This took the Panther’s record in South Dakota Class 11A high school football to 3-5.

Panther duo advances after storm-delayed race

For the 1st time this season a cross country meet was canceled due to weather and it was for regionals. On October 16, 2025 the Panthers were in Parkston to race for state qualifications. However, Mother Nature had other ideas as a black cloud loomed over a large area and lightning cracked prior to runners lining up at the start. Weather delays ensued and after hours of waiting the meet was postponed until Friday, October 17, 2025.

Panthers dominate, take DAK XII championship

The Panthers were up 8-3 versus Lennox to start set #1 on October 14, 2025. It was a home contest with expectations high as both teams were ranked near the top of Class A. At the time of their match, Dakota Valley was ranked #1 and Lennox was #5 per the South Dakota Media Volleyball Poll.
