Strong scores were secured by the Dakota Valley (DV) dance team as they competed in Mitchell, South Dakota on September 3, 2026. Top honors were earned for the Panthers in their pom routine while they captured 2nd place for their jazz number. At the conclusion of the dance meet, DV would bring home overall runner-up from the judges.

Dakota Valley picked up its first win of the season with a convincing 3-0 victory at West Central. The Panthers set the tone immediately, pressing aggressively and consistently forcing turnovers throughout the match. Their increased physicality and pressure allowed Dakota Valley to regain possession quickly and keep West Central from settling into its attack.

Hot weather did not slow down the Dakota Valley (DV) cross country team as they ran well at their home meet on September 1, 2026. Races for varsity, junior varsity (JV) and junior high were held at the Adams Homestead and Nature Preserve in McCook Lake. Teams from Iowa and South Dakota were in attendance.

Business was taken care of by Elk Point-Jefferson during their home football game, against the Pheasants of Parker, on Friday, September 4, 2026. It was a big win, by a nice margin, as the Huskies ended the 4 quarters of play with the score at 372. During the contest both the Huskies and the Pheasants each scored a 2 point safety.

Two difficult away matches greeted Elk Point-Jefferson volleyball to start the month of September. The Huskies had to travel to Dell Rapids on September 1, 2026 to face the 2025 Class A runner- ups in Dell Rapids (DR). Two days later, it was a short road trip to Dakota Valley (DV) in North Sioux City. The DV Panthers were last year’s state champions.

The Huskies ran hard in the heat on September 1, 2026 at Dakota Valley’s invite which was held at the Adams Homestead and Nature Preserve. Elk Point-Jefferson showcased strong representation between the varsity, junior varsity (JV) and junior high races.

Huskies finish fifth at Sioux Falls Christian Invite The Elk Point-Jefferson boys golf team competed at the Sioux Falls Christian Invite Tuesday (September 1, 2026) at Spring Creek Golf Course, with 10 Huskies competing between the varsity and JV levels.

A crisp back set from Madelyn Munch to Tinsley Sorensen made for a kill near the start of Dakota Valley’s volleyball season opener on August 27, 2026. The attack gave the Panthers a 2-1 edge over the Yankton Gazelles. It was an away game for the Panthers versus a Class AA opponent.

Travel to Hartford, South Dakota was on Dakota Valley’s agenda for the 1st football game of the 2026 season. The Panthers were set to battle a ranked West Central (WC) squad in the away contest. For Class 11A, the South Dakota Prep Media Football Poll had WC ranked in 4th place in early polling. Dakota Valley (DV) was not ranked in the top 5, but did receive votes. Sioux Falls Christian started the season ranked #1, followed by #2 Lennox and #3 Dell Rapids. Madison took the 5th spot with DV receiving the most votes thereafter.

The Panther dance squad traveled to Gregory, South Dakota on Saturday, August 29, 2026 for their season opener. High scores were earned across the board for Dakota Valley (DV) as their pom routine and jazz performance took top honors. The Panthers were overall champions on the day after placing 1st in pom and jazz.
