It was a home contest with a nice crowd, despite the dreary weather forecast. Local youth soccer players were on-hand to walk out with the varsity starters and also cheer the team on to an outstanding victory.

The homestretch for the South Dakota boys high school golf season was upon Dakota Valley (DV) and strong showings at big meets were in store. The Panthers brought home a runner-up finish at the DAK XII varsity conference meet on September 21, 2026. The next day the junior varsity roster claimed the conference championship in Canton.

An early passing touchdown happened for Dakota Valley (DV) during their home football game, versus Madison, on Friday, September 25, 2026. The Panthers cruised down the field with quarterback Tye DeGeorgia who sent a lengthy pass to the end zone. Matthew Bryan was there for the catch to put DV on the scoreboard early. It took only 4 plays for the Panthers to score.

The Panther volleyball had a slow start versus the West Central (WC) Trojans on Tuesday, September 22, 2026. After dropping set #1 at home, Dakota Valley (DV) powered through to win the next 3 sets and take the match. By the 4th set, DV was in their groove and defeated the Trojans by a double digit margin.

On paper the Friday Night Light’s contest of Elk Point-Jefferson (EPJ) versus the Deuel Cardinals was to be a battle. Both squads were undefeated as they got ready to kick-off on September 25, 2026. Media polls had EPJ ranked #1, in class 11B, and the Cardinals were ranked #3.

SCORES: To end September, the Huskies put a “W” in the victory column as they bested the Watchdogs of Beresford on the volleyball court. In a home match, played on Thursday, September 24, 2026, it was Elk Point-Jefferson (EPJ) grabbing 3 set wins to Beresford’s 1 set.

Dakota Valley contained Canton to inside the 10-yard line on a fantastic kick-off on Friday, September 4, 2026. Solid defense by Dakota Valley (DV) kept the CHawks pinned deep. A safety then occurred to put the Panthers up 2-0 very early in the game.

Dakota Valley led most of set #1 versus the Tri-Valley (TV) Mustangs on September 1, 2026. However, a rally by their opponent had things tied and going into extra points. Momentum stayed with the Mustangs as DV lost a tough initial set 25-27. However, they would battle through the adversity to ultimately claim the match and leave town victorious.

On the 1st day of September, the Dakota Valley (DV) golf team traveled to the Chargers Boys Golf Invite in Sioux Falls. It was a varsity and junior varsity (JV) event with the Panthers claiming bronze as a team for varsity. First place was secured by DV’s JV roster at the Spring Creek Golf Course.
