Huskies decimate Eagles

Elk Point-Jefferson travelled to Irene, SD in a non-region contest against the Irene-Wakonda Eagles Dec. 27. Even though only two days after Christmas festivities, the Huskies decimated the Eagles 60-34.

Boys win games with 68 points

The Elk Point-Jefferson Huskies won two road games during Winter Break, both with 68 points. The first game was against Irene-Wakonda Dec.

The Huskies travelled to Hurley, SD to face the Viborg-Hurley Cougars in a non-region contest Dec. 20. The Cougars, who won the State B Championship Title last year were ready to play against the Class A Huskies.

EPJ wins home triangular, hosts Husky Invite

Elk Point-Jefferson hosted it’s first wrestling meet of the winter sports season Dec. 13 with a triangular against Vermillion and Dakota Valley.

Huskies fought hard

The Huskies boys took on Sioux Falls Christian Dec. 14 and lost 51-69 in a tough battle. A large halftime lead of 22-39 is where the Huskies fell. In the 2nd half, the Huskies were only 1 basket down from tieing the quarter scores.

Huskies aiming for a state berth

Last year, the Elk Point-Jefferson boys basketball season ended when Vermillion knocked them out in the first round of regions. This year, the Huskies, led by head coach Jeremy Otkin (fourth year), look forward to punching their ticket to the state tournament. Otkin is assisted by JV coach Zach Ronning (third year) and C-team coach Adam Timmins (first year).

Seniors will lead the way

This year’s Elk Point-Jefferson wrestling team will be lead by many state placers and qualifiers. The team will look to Lucas Hueser and Ben Swatek who are moving up into the top 10 for all-time victories at EPJ.
