Ray Schulz, 94, of Vermillion, South Dakota, passed away on November 22, 2024, at the Vermillion Hospital. He was born on March 30, 1930, at the farm home of his parents Walter and Doris (Lilly) Schulz near Elk Point, South Dakota.

Janice M. Rosenbaum, 75, of Jefferson, South Dakota passed away peacefully at home surrounded with her loving family by her side on Monday, October 28, 2024.

Lavonne Barbara Weber, 85, died on October 8, 2024, in Grundy Center, IA. Lavonne was born on April 4, 1939, the daughter of Frank and Elizabeth Schaefer, in Washburn, IA. She married Wayne Weber on April 19, 1958, in Gilbertville, IA. The couple had six children: Ruth Weber Cose (Scott Hansen) of Steamboat Rock, Rhonda (Todd) Glaw of Waterloo, Cindy Diaz of Tampa, FL, Wendy (Colin) McIntosh of Elk Point, SD, Shawn (Andrea) Weber of Grundy Center, Jill Weber of Traer. Lavonne is survived by her children, 2 sisters: Charlene Youngblut and Rosie Youngblut, 14 grandchildren, and 17 great grandchildren.

Doris Grobeck Tschantz, 95 years old, passed away at the home of her daughter in Lincoln, NE, on Saturday, September 7, 2024, surrounded by loved ones. “Dory” Donnelly was born in Elk Point, SD on March 18, 1929.

Janice M. Rosenbaum, 75, of Jefferson, SD passed away on Monday, October 28 2024 at her home surrounded by her family. Funeral service will be from 10:30 a.m., November 4, 2024 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Elk Point. Burial will take place at Brule Creek Cemetery in Elk Point following the luncheon. Visitation with family present will be from 5 to 7 p.m., Sunday, November 3, 2024 at Immanuel Lutheran Church with a prayer service at 7. Kober Funeral Home of Elk Point has been entrusted with the service.

Warren Maxwell Faber, 85, of Elk Point, South Dakota passed away Friday, October 11, 2024 at his residence. Abiding his wishes, the cremation has taken place and no services are planned at this time. Warren Faber was born January 9, 1939 in Sioux City, Iowa, the son of Maynard Fredrick Faber and Florence Pike.

Matthew G. Dennison of Elk Point, South Dakota, passed away peacefully on October 16th, 2024, after a courageous battle with bile duct cancer. Matt was born on November 13, 1957, to Casson L. and Joyce A. Dennison, in Sioux Falls, SD. His mother, Joyce, often referred to him as an “answered prayer” after losing their firstborn, Casson John, at just 6 months old. From a young age, he grew into a protector for his family, a trait he carried with him until he passed.

Virginia Ann Quam, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully at the age of 99 on October 15, 2024, at a Vermillion Hospital. She was born on March 10, 1925, in Sioux City, IA, to Clifford and Cecilia Trudo. Virginia spent her formative years in Elk Point, SD, where she graduated from Elk Point High School.

Roger Dunn, 75, of Elk Point, SD passed away on Friday, October 11, 2024 after a short cancer battle.
