The Walking Christmas Tree has completed her Journey. Marti Jo O’Dea passed away at her home surrounded by family on Sunday January 12th.

Marianna Julie Gergen, 83, entered into her heavenly rest on January 11, 2025 in hospice at Avera Sacred Heart Hospital in Yankton, SD surrounded by her loving family. Visitation will be at the Opsahl- Kostel Funeral Home and Crematory on Thursday, January 16, 2025, from 5 to 7 pm with the family present and Wake service at 7:00 pm. Visitation will resume one hour prior to the service at the church. Edith Francis Dailey, 101 years young, of Jefferson, SD, peacefully passed away at Unity Point Hospital with family members at her side. Services will be on Saturday, January 18, 2025 with visitation from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. and Memorial Service at 10:30 a.m. at Riverside Evangelical Lutheran Church at 1817 Riverside Blvd, Sioux City, IA 51109 with Pastor Tim Squier officiating. She was the daughter of Henry and Delilah (Millard) Ropken. Edith attended grade school at the Voss School near Waterbury, Nebraska. She later graduated from Emerson Nebraska Public High School in 1940. While attending school she participated in choir, band, and 4-H, which she enjoyed. Edith received her teaching certificate and taught in rural schools in Wakefield, Homer, and Dakota City, Nebraska. She attended Wayne State Teachers College during her summers to receive her teaching certificate.

Dr. M. Frances Graham February 11th, 1930 – January 1st, 2025 Dr. M. Frances “Fran” Graham, 94, of McCook Lake, South Dakota, passed away January 1st, 2025. She fought the good fight until the very end of her life.

Vicki Ann Schwarz, age 63, of Anthon, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, December 25, 2024, at her residence of Anthon, Iowa. Per Vicki’s wishes cremation has taken place.

Kenneth Lawrence Mc-Donald was born June 28, 1943 to Clifford and Johanna McDonald. He died unexpectedly Saturday December 21, 2024 at the age of 81. He entered the military at the age of 16, when he enlisted in the Navy. He served in the Army after that and ended his military career at the 185th Iowa Air National Guard.

David J Hoffman (grizzly bear), 62 of Omaha, NE, passed away on March 7th 2022. He spent the last 6 months battling lung disease.

Angela “Angie” N. Moffatt, 53, a formidable and unwavering daughter, mother, grandmother & sister, passed away on Thursday, Dec 12, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of resilience, innovation, and the extraordinary balance of motherhood with business. Born on March 21, 1971, in Sioux City, IA Angie was known for her tenacity and her refusal to bend to conventional norms. These qualities defined her journey in both her personal and professional life.

Karlee Faith Hughes, 19, of Dakota Dunes, South Dakota, passed away Thursday, November 14, 2024. A Celebration of Life was held at 11:00 A.M.
