Shirley Ann (Raynor) Schlag, 84, of Sioux City, Iowa passed away on Thursday, September 22, 2022 after a brief stay at Holy Spirit Nursing Home. Funeral Services will be at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, September 27, 2022 at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 28th at Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation, with the family present, will begin at 5:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home before the service begins at 6:30 p.m. Online condolences may be offered to the family at www.meyerbroschapels.com Shirley Ann was born on May 4, 1938 in Elk Point, South Dakota, oldest daughter of Ed and Louise (Henke) Raynor with 5 siblings. After graduating high school Shirley moved to Sioux City where she worked for several area businesses, including Sears, running a comptometer adding yearly inventory numbers. She met and married Robert L. Schlag in 1959 at Morningside Lutheran Church in Sioux City. Shirley graduated from Stewarts School of Hair and ran her own beauty shop “Golfview Salon” out of her home for 35 years. She was also an accomplished art painter, seamstress and crafter. While running her beauty shop, she also kept busy as a Tupperware and Park Lane Jewelry Sales woman, and teaching sewing.
