Recently I had the opportunity to help out during a jam session at a local restaurant that promotes live music weekly and a special open stage jam session monthly. Over 30 musicians of all ages, skill levels and performance experience participated, and the level of enthusiasm and mentorship was encouraging in every way.

Shueys receive award from OSU

Women dies in I-29 accident

One person died early Saturday morning, Nov. 26 in a vehicle-pedestrian crash that occurred at Interstate- 29 mile marker five, one mile north of North Sioux City at 4:54 a.m.

NSC Parks and Rec receives clarification, has upcoming events

A bill submitted for over $19,000 by the North Sioux City Parks and Recreation board turned into a lively conversation on spending authority. Mayor Patti Teel asked what the Parks and Rec was buying? Tammy Steemken with the North Sioux City Parks and Recreation Board informed her that they were going to update benches at the parks.

New ladder truck will better serve communities

The North Sioux City Fire Department has recently added a new ladder truck to their fleet. The current ladder truck was built in 1997 is approximately 28 feet long and has a ladder that extends 75 feet.
