County to provide law enforcement service to Alcester

Effective Jan. 23, 2024, Union County took over policing in the City of Alcester. A contract was provided to the Union County Board of County Commissioners at their meeting on Jan. 23. Five Huskies place in Big East/LLC Tournament

The Elk Point-Jefferson Huskies travelled to Sioux Valley Public School in Volga, SD to partake in the Big East/LLC Tournament. Half of the Huskies who participated had podium finishes and racked up 72.5 points for the team to finish 8th out of 14 teams.

Fundraiser to be held for Hogan on February 17

Justin Hogan, nephew of Sherri (Taylor) and Orelous Bousquet and the cousin of Sydney and Aubrey Bousquest, was diagnosed with ALS in May 2022. ALS (Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) is a nervous system disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord. ALS causes loss of muscle control and the disease worsens with time.
