Post 319 sets Memorial Day services

    American Legion Post 319 of North Sioux City will hold its Memorial Day services on Monday, with ceremonies at 10 a.m. at McCook Lake Cemetery and 10:30 a.m. at Civil Bend Cemetery. Members of the post will offer brief remarks and honors at each site as part of the community’s annual observance. The public is invited to attend.

    EPJ racks up medals at back‑to‑back meets

    Beresford, on May 5, 2026, was the destination for the Elk Point-Jefferson track and field team. Several strong finishes, high marks and medals were secured by the Huskies. Gold medals went to Cera Schmitz, Gracelyn Campbell, Hailey Schmitz and the EPJ girls 1600m sprint medley.

    Memorial Day services

    Memorial Day services will be held Monday, May 25, in Jefferson and Elk Point to honor those who died in military service.

    The first ceremony is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. at the Jefferson Cemetery, followed by a 10:30 a.m. service at the Elk Point Cemetery. Both programs are hosted by American Legion Post 134, VFW Post 915, and the VFW Auxiliary.
