Alcester Police Dept. disbands

The Union County Board of County Commissioners learned the fate of the City of Alcester’s Police Department at their meeting Jan. 9. City rescinds MOU with PBR Capital Group

North Sioux City received a petition with 385 signatures to bring the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with PBR Capital Group to a referendum. The matter appeared on the agenda at the city council’s meeting Jan. 8, leaving the council with two options – 1) set an election date or 2) rescind the MOU.

DV families volunteer over winter break

Winter break is often a time for holiday fun and gathering with friends and family. It can also be a chance to give back, which is what many Dakota Valley families did on Friday, Dec. 29. The non-profit organization, Sleep in Heavenly Peace Sioux City, benefited greatly as locals from Dakota Dunes, North Sioux City and surrounding areas gathered to build beds for children in need.
