DV track and field compete strong at Howard Wood Relays

Steep competition faced Dakota Valley’s talented track and field team on May 3 and May 4 for the Howard Wood Relays in Sioux Falls. Qualifiers for the Panthers represented well with many achieving personal records and performing at the highest level.

The destination for the Panther girls golf team on Tuesday, April 30th Course in Dell Rapids. The trip north proved to be worthwhile as 8th grader Katie Betsworth shot a personal best at the Dell Rapids Invitational.

Varsity Panther baseball play wave of games

The month of May brought a wave of games for the Panther varsity baseball squad. Dakota Valley played 4 games in 4 days and came away with 3 victories and a loss.

The annual Howard Wood Relays were held in Sioux Falls on May 3 and 4 with several Huskies competing. Many personal records and high achievements were earned by the Elk Point- Jef ferson athletes in what is always an exciting two days of track and field for the state.

The EPJ Girls golf team competed on Tuesday, April 30 at a very difficult course at Rockey Run in Dell Rapids. It presents many challenges that The Pointe does not, elevation and multiple water features.

EPJ hosts Huskies Girls Golf Invitational

The Huskies Girls Golf Invitational, hosted by Elk Point-Jefferson, happened on Friday, May 3. Eight teams attended and weather conditions were finally favorable for the student athletes to hit the links.

Huskies lose by one to BAH

It was an away contest against Beresford/Alcester-Hudson (BAH) on Wednesday, May 1 for the Huskies. It was a game of defense for both sides as the scores were low with BAH winning 2-1.

EPJ baseball win one and drop one at home

The Elk Point-Jefferson baseball team played 2 games on May 5. It was a strong win for the Huskies versus Wagner by a score of 11-1. However, EPJ did not come out on top against the Cavaliers of Bon Homme.

Lady Huskies mount epic comeback against Watchdogs

The Elk Point-Jefferson softball squad mounted an epic comeback on Friday, May 3rd versus the Beresford Watchdogs. The final score would be 19-18 with the Huskies claiming victory in the final inning with 2 outs already in the book.

Gunderson, McCullough, Munch shatter records

School records fell at the Dakota Valley home track meet on Tuesday, April 23. It was also senior night where DV 12th graders met at the 50-yard-line, of the football field, at the midpoint of the meet to be honored for their hard work in the sport.
